Fuzzy-wuzzy was a Tonya was in the house....
(note: my computer at work fucked up most of the pics my boy Damond took for me at the party. Tonya's was the only one that came out. Fuck, fuck, fuckity, fuck. Ok, now I feel better. For more pics, check out Donald's web site anzidesign.com. Thank you, Donald!)
Oh, the people I know. Folks came out in full effect on Saturday for my Website Launch Party. Who knew that so many people who would show up AND stick around AND chat each other up AND play around on my website AND eat all my goddamn food up? I loved it. It was a hee-larious scene. The last folks ended up leaving at 3 a.m. Crazy artists, crazier academicians, model types, an amazon in a bodice (no shit) a couple of snot-noses, and a man in a dress (no, not your truly.)
Comments from a few in attendance:
"The launch party for Stevenfullwood.org was the hot spot on 8.23.2003.
Beautiful people, good food, and good conversation was had by all. Who
knew website parties could be this fun.

"Words: Again Mr. Fullwood and Ms. Hampton have supplied an evening of celebration and warmth. This being the third event done by Mr. Fullwood and Ms. Hampton (a.k.a. Whores 'n' Harlem) that I’ve attended, I’ve again found myself being glad that I know not only them, but their natural sense for providing people with a personal space filled with the variables that are conducive to not only civility, but compassion. It is a sense of self that demands, in the most honest of ways, for people to share those things that really mean something to them. Conversations that always fall to personal responsibility in the midst of social contracts that sometime seem to be braking down in the age of money, violence and "do you" (and you only). There's nothing generic about them or their events, which feel more loving than going to church-in fact-church, fellowship would be a more appropriate term to use for Mr. Fullwood and Ms. Hampton’s events. Difference is what we are, even though the "form" is the same, and this is always evident at their events; a cornucopia of thoughts and smiles. Osmosis, rest, congratulations, hugs, welcoming smiles and promising departures like the pollen on the wind. Truly be and move us. I love u too. Thank you for giving me reason upon reason to. A reminder may be easy to see, but it's not easy to know. And I know two beautiful reminders, and for that I am grateful and can live gratefully."

"Stevie, I had such a good time at your party; I mean hanging out at the Schomburg is nice and all, but.... Anyhooo, I loved your apartment, all the artwork made me want to work harder on my own craft. And if we can't find inspiration in the people we share our lives with, then why the hell are they always telling us about their problems?!? I am very impressed with stevengfullwood.org. Your postings are hysterical, and the graphics are very well done. Good luck with the BGLA; it is about time that we as people of color started loving one another and ourselves enough to accept one another and ourselves for whom and what we really are. So, I will start spreading the gospel by declaring my absolute love for your website....and your oh-so-spacious bathroom" =))

"Steven, Great site!! I think the Blog will be a good resource for researchers on day-to-day life in Harlem, etc. I particularly like the Dr. Dick letters and responses. Great party!! (as I knew it would be); a very eclectic group and a lot of interesting conversations."
