Fire & Ink postpones writers festival
New dates, location to be announced
Hyattsville, MD—The board of Fire & Ink Incorporated is postponing its second writers festival, “Revival!,” originally scheduled for October 6-9, 2005 at the University of Texas at Austin.
The Fire & Ink Board, with input from the Festival Planning Committee, community collaborators and key participants, decided on Aug. 2, 2005 to postpone the event in order to plan a more comprehensive festival celebrating Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) writers of African descent.
While the level of interest in the organization, “Revival!” and work by GLBT writers of African descent has been extremely encouraging, the Fire & Ink Board decided that postponing the festival for a few months will enable it to ensure that all of those interested in the gathering from across the U.S. and around the globe will be able to be represented and participate.
Fire & Ink Incorporated regrets any inconvenience this decision may cause. Specific dates and details concerning “Revival!” will be announced in the next few weeks. Please check our web site, for updated information.
Monday, August 08, 2005 @ 01:46 PMglad to hear that the planned event will be even more comprehensive than the postponed. looking forward to the re-revival!
