New York Brothers:
My friend Heru developed this unique and fascinating program for black men who experience same sex desire. If you can carve out the time, you should do participate. I highly recommend it and I guarantee you will be transformed. I had the honor (along with several other wonderful men) of participating in the inaugural project that served as the basis for Heru's dissertation. Our Bodies, Our Wisdom offers space where you critically (and lovingly) examine yourself, other black men, and share in the rare opportunity to divulge personal experiences in an environment that promotes honesty, healing and self-actualization. No, it's not about sitting around and talking. No, it's not about talking race issues. No, it's not just about sex. It's about exploring your own way of knowing the world and how you REALLY think about yourself, about how you choose to (or not to) communicate, about race, sex, other men, etc. Consider this opportunity to explore your worldview in a space designed for healing. Explore your wisdom. Check out Our Bodies, Our Wisdom. I did, and I am better for it.
Best,
Steven
