Black Voices is looking to fill the following positions to work out of their New York AOL offices at 75 Rockefeller Plaza:
1.) One Full Time (with benefits) Entertainment News Staff Writer-
Responsibilities will include writing a daily entertainment news report (500-800 words) with an eye on the hottest entertainment news in all categories (Music, TV, Film, Books, Fashion, and some gaming, theater and art news.) Responsibilities also include reporting on relevant breaking news in subsequent daily alerts and culling relevant entertainment news and content from AOL partners and sources when applicable. Responsibilities will also include reporting out and advancing breaking Entertainment news stories.
2.) Two Full Time (with benefits) Staff Writers
Responsibilities include writing and reporting across the different Black Voices platforms with a strong emphasis on the areas of Entertainment, Hard News and Sports. Strong reporting skills, and ability to travel to cover a story will be key to this position.
3.) News And Sports Programming Director
Responsibilities include directing and managing the development and execution of all original (for example a potential BV sports pod cast,) partnered (for example HBO sports and NBA video content,) aggregated (for example AOL Sports and News content) and monetized hard news and sports content (for example sponsored content packages) on Black Voices. Involves supervising 2-3 content producers, 2 shared staff writers and overseeing the usage of any freelance writers or content providers. Responsibilities also include top line editing all Sports and News content and being the point person btw BV sports and news and AOL at large.
4.) Freelancers
Strong Freelance writers to write content across the various BV platforms on a once to twice a week basis.
